Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a condition where the tissue that runs across the bottom of the foot becomes inflamed and painful. Plantar fasciitis can cause heel pain and commonly results in a stabbing pain that occurs with one's first steps in the morning.

Anyone can have this condition, but it is most common with runners, women who are pregnant, and people who are overweight. Plantar fasciitis can be aggravated by wearing shoes with inadequate support.

As a podiatrist, Dr. Ames is professionally trained and fully qualified to treat plantar fasciitis and other conditions of the foot. If you are experiencing these symptoms, call our office at (512) 407-8188 to make an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Ames.
